Cross-site scripting via unencoded processing instructions

Cross-site scripting in TYPO3 HTML Sanitizer 1.0.0 through 1.5.2 and 2.0.0 through 2.1.3 allows remote attackers to execute script. CommonVisitor failed to classify DOMProcessingInstruction nodes as invalid, so a crafted XML processing instruction survived sanitization and was reparsed by browsers as executable markup. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled HTML to pass through the component and a user to render the sanitized output; the demonstrated consequence is script execution in that user's browser.
