Password-hash disclosure via unrestricted ORM filter traversal
Published Nov 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
ORM-based information disclosure in HumanSignal Label Studio before 1.9.2post0 allows remote authenticated users to read account password hashes. ViewSetSerializer accepts attacker-controlled filter paths from PATCH requests, and TaskQuerySet applies them as Django ORM lookups without restricting relationship traversal. An account, project, task, saved view, and session cookie are required; repeated regex probes disclose hashes character by character, and releases through 1.8.1 also permit session-token forgery when chained with the hard-coded secret key.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
