Stored XSS via unescaped administrator description
Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Stored XSS in Virtualmin 7.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script in another administrator's browser. The Manage Extra Admins workflow stores the real name or description value without neutralizing script content and renders it when the administrator list is revisited. Administrative Options access is required, and a second user's interaction triggers code in the Virtualmin origin, enabling limited data access or interface modification.
