Stored script execution via unsanitized template names
Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Stored XSS in Virtualmin 7.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through a server template name. The Server Templates interface stores the Template name without neutralizing embedded HTML or script and renders it when affected template links or tabs are opened. Access to System Settings and template creation are required, and another user must open the template or an affected virtual-server tab for the script to execute.
