Code execution via M4A parser out-of-bounds read
Published Nov 17, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe After Effects 24.0.2 and earlier and 23.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted file. The M4A parser fails to validate supplied data before reading past an allocated object, enabling code execution in the current process. Exploitation requires a victim to open the malicious file, so impact is bounded by user interaction and the victim's process privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
