Code execution via unchecked MP4 parser bounds
Published Nov 16, 2023 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Media Encoder 24.0.2 and earlier and 23.6 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted MP4 file. The MP4 parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading beyond the end of an allocated buffer. Execution occurs in the current user context only after a victim opens the malicious file or visits a page that supplies it.
