Code execution and crash via null dereference
Published Nov 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Null-pointer dereference in RedisGraph 2.12.10 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or crash Redis via a crafted Cypher query. DataBlock_ItemIsDeleted dereferences a null item pointer while the execution plan releases entities created and deleted by the same nested query. Any unauthenticated client that can invoke GRAPH.QUERY can trigger the fault; the public reproduction demonstrates a server crash, but not code execution.
