JavaScript execution via unsanitized dialog content
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Bootbox.js 3.2.0 through 6.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted dialog content. The alert, confirm, and prompt dialog paths pass message or title input to jQuery .html(), which interprets attacker-supplied markup instead of treating it as text. Execution requires a consuming application to place untrusted content in a dialog and a user to render it, exposing data and actions available to that browser context.
