File disclosure via unsanitized fileExt path traversal
Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Path traversal in ONLYOFFICE Document Server before 8.0.1 allows remote attackers to read server files through the example editor. The /example/editor handler uses an unvalidated fileExt path when creating a demo file, copying the resolved file into a web-accessible directory. Reachability requires the example service to be exposed, and disclosure is limited to files readable by its account; targeting /dev/urandom can fill storage and crash the service.
