CVE-2023-46978Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated password reset via exposed setup wizard

Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024

Missing authentication in TOTOLINK X6000R Firmware 9.4.0cu.852_B20230719 allows remote attackers to reset login and Wi-Fi passwords. The /wizard.html and /phone/wizard.html setup pages accept an unauthenticated POST to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi with topicurl setWizardCfg and attacker-supplied loginpass and wireless keys. Network access to the router's web interface is sufficient, and successful use changes administrative and wireless credentials.
