CVE-2023-46931

Crash via mismatched side-data loop index

Published Nov 1, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024

Heap-buffer overflow in GPAC MP4Box 2.3-DEV-rev605-gfc9e29089-master allows local users to crash the process via a crafted file. The outer stream-loop counter, rather than the side-data-loop counter, selects stream->side_data, causing a four-byte read before the allocated heap buffer. Processing the crafted media with MP4Box DASH operations triggers an out-of-bounds read and abort; no other impact is reported.
