Unauthorized monitor activation via BLE replay
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Authentication bypass in Maxima Max Pro Power 1.0 486A allows remote attackers to activate the heart-rate monitor via BLE replay. The device accepts replayed Bluetooth Low Energy traffic on GATT characteristic handle 0x0012 without validating message freshness or authorization. Attackers within Bluetooth radio range can trigger the monitor and other disruptive actions, affecting integrity and availability but not providing documented data disclosure.
