Service interruption via unreleased SFSCRIPT allocation
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Memory leakage in MP4Box in GPAC 2.3-DEV-rev602-ged8424300-master allows remote attackers to exhaust memory via a crafted file. When a malformed MPEG-4 BIFS scene creates an SFSCRIPT field, gf_sg_vrml_field_pointer_del returns instead of freeing the allocation created through NewSFDouble. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or access a malicious page; the unreleased allocations consume memory and interrupt MP4Box availability.
