Teacher-authenticated script execution via reflected searchvalue
Published Oct 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in Moodle 4.3 allows remote authenticated users with teacher access to execute script through a crafted grader-report search. The grader report at /grade/report/grader/index.php reflects the searchvalue query parameter into the returned page without safely neutralizing script-capable input. A teacher session and victim interaction are required, and Moodle disputes the security impact because teachers are trusted to post XSS-capable course content.
