Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode URL
Published Nov 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Chris Yee MomentoPress for Momento360 1.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to store script through a shortcode. The plugin renders the user-controlled url attribute of the momentopress shortcode without sufficient output escaping, causing stored markup to execute when affected content is viewed. Contributor-level access is required to save the shortcode, and a separate user must view the resulting page for the script to run in that user's browser.
