Process crash via unchecked zero timing values
Published Aug 31, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Divide by zero in GPAC before 2.3-DEV allows local users to crash MP4Box by processing a crafted SWF or media file. Its SWF scene code and DASH/ISO media filters use zero frame-rate, timescale, or sample-rate values as divisors without rejecting them. Exploitation requires a local invocation or user-driven file processing and interrupts only the affected MP4Box process.
