Unauthenticated administrator takeover via exposed cron-log backups
Published Nov 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Improper authentication in Pandora FMS 700 through 772 allows remote attackers to take over an administrator account via exposed cron-log backups. Apache access controls block cron.log but omit rotated .gz backups whose predictable date-based names expose administrator session IDs. Network access to the web console is sufficient to retrieve a backup, reuse a captured session, and control the console and connected agents.
