Launcher restart via insufficient input validation
Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Input validation in the input method module in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allows remote attackers to restart the launcher. The module accepts input parameters without strict validation, but Huawei has not disclosed the parameter, processing path, or malformed value involved. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation interrupts the launcher by forcing it to restart.
