Arbitrary user actions via unescaped revision parameter
Published Nov 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in XWiki Platform 9.7-rc-1 through 14.10.13 and 15.0-rc-1 through 15.5.0 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript. The Flamingo skin's menus_content.vm template inserts request.rev into the content-menu source URL without URL escaping, allowing crafted markup to enter the rendered page. A victim must follow the crafted link; the script acts with that user's rights and can run Groovy code when the user has programming rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
