Session theft via unscanned PDF previews
Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Pimcore Admin UI Classic Bundle before 1.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through PDF previews. The asset preview controller streams uploaded PDF content without first checking whether the document contains unsafe active content. An attacker must upload a crafted PDF and another authenticated user must open its preview, allowing script to steal that user's session cookie or redirect the page.
