CVE-2023-46685Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated root command execution via hard-coded password

Published Jul 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Hard-coded credentials in LevelOne WBR-6013 firmware RER4_A_v3411b_2T2R_LEV_09_170623 allow remote attackers to execute commands. The telnetd service installs /etc/passwd_orig as /etc/passwd, retaining a weak, hard-coded root password that grants an interactive root shell. Network access to the undocumented Telnet listener is sufficient; no prior authentication or user interaction is required, and successful login gives complete control of the router.
