Site-wide disclosure via Limited Access permission handling
Published Oct 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024
Improper access control in Elastic SharePoint Online Connector before 8.10.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to read all site content. When Document Level Security processes SharePoint Online Limited Access permissions, the connector grants access to every indexed item on that site instead of only the permitted item. The flaw is reachable only when Document Level Security is enabled and a user has Limited Access to an item; it exposes content without enabling modification.
