Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Jens Kuerschner Add to Calendar Button before 1.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via shortcode attributes. The shortcode handler insufficiently sanitizes user-supplied attributes and outputs them without adequate escaping, preserving injected script in page content. Contributor-level access is required to create the content, and the script runs when another user opens the injected page, permitting browser-context data access and actions.
