CVE-2023-46601Network attack vector

Unauthorized database queries via underprotected SQL connection

Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025

Improper access control in Siemens COMOS allows remote authenticated users to query its SQL Server database for restricted information. COMOS establishes the SQL Server connection without enforcing sufficient access controls, permitting queries beyond the user's authorization. Low-privileged network access is required; the documented consequence is access to database information outside that user's permissions.
