Session-cookie disclosure via hard-coded insecure flag
Published Aug 31, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Sensitive-cookie exposure in InstantCMS Team InstantCMS 2 before 2.16.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read session cookies via HTTP. The cmsUser::setCookie method passes a hard-coded false value for the Secure flag, so browsers can transmit an HTTPS-issued icms cookie over plaintext HTTP. A victim with a live session must load an HTTP URL while the attacker can observe the network path; the bounded consequence is disclosure of that cookie.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
