CVE-2023-46526

Unauthenticated code execution via password stack overflow

Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 11, 2024

Stack overflow in TP-Link TL-WR886N Firmware 7.0_3.0.14_Build_221115_Rel.56908n allows remote attackers to execute code. The resetCloudPwdRegister handler processes an oversized password value without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bound, corrupting adjacent memory. Adjacent-network access to the router's management service is sufficient; exploitation can crash the service or execute code with firmware privileges.
