CVE-2023-46501Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Password disclosure via unrestricted member data action

Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024

Improper access control in BoltWire 6.03 allows remote attackers to read member passwords through a crafted administrative data request. The member administration data action accepts a username in the page selector and returns that account's stored password without enforcing the intended access restriction. No authentication or user interaction is required, and disclosure of an administrator password enables account takeover and unauthorized data changes.
