Administrator-level stored XSS via unsafe settings rendering
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Customer Reviews 3.6.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through administrator settings. The plugin stores some setting values without sufficient input sanitization and later renders them without output escaping, causing injected script to execute when an affected page is accessed. Administrator-level privileges are required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled.
