CVE-2023-46456Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated shell command execution via crafted filename

Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

OS command injection in GL.iNET GL-AR300M firmware 3.216 allows remote authenticated users to run shell commands via an OpenVPN upload. The upload workflow accepts shell metacharacters in configuration filenames and evaluates the crafted filename when adding and enabling the OpenVPN client. An administrator API token and network access to the management interface are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-chosen commands on the router.
