Authenticated command execution via crafted package names
Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in GL.iNet GL-AR300M firmware 4.3.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands via package names. The plugins.get_package_info JSON-RPC method passes the attacker-controlled name value into shell processing without neutralizing command substitutions or metacharacters. Possession of an administrative authentication token is required, after which arbitrary commands execute in the router service context.
