Information disclosure via undersized JPEG XL buffer

Out-of-bounds read in FFmpeg before 6.1 allows local users to disclose process memory when crafted JPEG XL media is opened. The read_vlc_prefix function allocates scratch arrays from the decoded alphabet size, although small alphabets require maximum prefix-table workspace, so JPEG XL prefix decoding reads beyond the allocation. Exploitation requires a user to open attacker-supplied media, and the reported consequence is exposure of data from the FFmpeg process.
