Spreadsheet formula execution via unsanitized guest comments
Published Jan 23, 2025 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
CSV injection in KWHotel Free edition 0.47 allows attackers to embed spreadsheet formulas in exported guest records. The add guest function accepts a formula-prefixed payload in the guest comment field without validation and writes it unchanged to CSV output. Exploitation requires the CSV to be exported and opened in formula-interpreting spreadsheet software, where the demonstrated payload invokes a command in the spreadsheet user's context.
