Administrator credential theft via cleartext URL parameters
Published Nov 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Cleartext credential transmission in all versions of LOYTEC LINX Configurator allows remote attackers to steal passwords via network sniffing. The login HTTP GET request places the administrator username and password in the webui/config/system URL query without transport protection. The attack requires a position that can observe login traffic, and its direct impact is disclosure of a reusable administrator credential.
