CVE-2023-46380Network attack vector

Account takeover via cleartext password-change requests

Published Nov 4, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Cleartext credential transmission in the LOYTEC LVIS-3ME12-A1 web interface in all versions allows man-in-the-middle attackers to steal passwords. The password-change workflow sends the replacement password in an unencrypted HTTP request instead of protecting the request with HTTPS. Attackers able to sniff traffic between an administrator and the device can capture the new credential and use it to take over the account.
