CVE-2023-46345Network attack vector

xls2csv crash via NULL pointer dereference

Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

NULL pointer dereference in Catdoc 0.95 xls2csv allows remote attackers to crash the converter via a crafted Excel spreadsheet. The xls2csv parser in src/xlsparse.c dereferences a NULL pointer while processing malformed spreadsheet data; public sources do not identify the exact function or field. No privileges or user interaction are required under NVD's network model, and the documented consequence is a converter crash without confidentiality or integrity impact.
