Privilege escalation via stored switch-group XSS
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Solar-Log Base 15 Firmware 6.0.1 Build 161 allows remote authenticated users to gain portal privileges. The switch-group name field stores unneutralized HTML that executes when a higher-privileged user hovers over the saved name. Low-privileged portal access and that user's interaction are required; the script can steal the privileged user's session cookie and enable administrative access.
