Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked image path
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
File inclusion in David Lingren Media Library Assistant 3.09 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted file URL. The unauthenticated mla-stream-image.php handler passes the unvalidated mla_stream_file value to Imagick, which processes attacker-hosted FTP content and can read or write server files. Code execution requires Imagick, external network connectivity, and a permissive ImageMagick policy; file disclosure remains possible through the same image-processing path.
