Denial-of-service in Knot Resolver before 5.7.0 allows remote attackers to exhaust resolver resources via malformed DNS responses. The resolver repeatedly reconnects over TCP after receiving nonsensical or connection-closing responses from servers, creating excessive work. Exploitation requires a network-reachable resolver processing attacker-influenced responses; the bounded consequence is service exhaustion without data disclosure or modification.
