CVE-2023-46283Network attack vector

Service crash via port 4002 buffer overwrite

Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Siemens UMC before 2.11.2 allows remote attackers to crash its host service through TCP port 4002. The request handler writes past the end of an allocated buffer while processing a specially formed request on that service port. No authentication or user interaction is required; the service automatically restarts after each crash, limiting the documented impact to a temporary service interruption.
