Administrative SYSTEM code execution via arbitrary upload
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Arbitrary file upload in Ivanti Avalanche 6.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through FileStoreConfig. The FileStoreConfig app fails to validate user-supplied upload data, permitting dangerous files to be written and executed by the server. High-privilege authenticated access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied code as SYSTEM with full host control.
