Remote code execution via unchecked stack-buffer copy
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Ivanti Avalanche 6.x before 6.4.2 allows remote attackers to execute code through the Mobile Device Server. WLAvalancheService copies user-supplied packet data into a stack buffer without first validating its length. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary code as SYSTEM or crashes the service.
