Unauthenticated code execution via MuProperty buffer overflow
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Ivanti Avalanche 6.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the Mobile Device Server. WLAvalancheService.exe copies an attacker-controlled MuProperty type 102 token into a fixed-size stack buffer without validating its length. Network access to TCP port 1777 is sufficient and requires no authentication or user interaction; exploitation can crash the service or execute code.
