Unauthorized device control via manipulated POST identifiers
Published Dec 19, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Govee Home before 5.9 allows remote attackers to control other users' devices through crafted HTTP POST requests. The HTTP POST handler accepts attacker-chosen device, sku, and type field values without enforcing that the referenced device belongs to the requester. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation permits unauthorized device commands.
