Administrator takeover via unclaimed reset domain
Published Oct 30, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Weak password recovery in JumpServer before 3.8.0 allows remote attackers to take over the initial administrator account. The initial-account seed assigns an unclaimed-domain address, so a registrant controlling that domain can receive the administrator's reset email. Exploitation requires the deployment to retain the default address and the attacker to control the domain; a successful reset grants administrator access.
