CVE-2023-46123Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Password brute-force bypass via attacker-controlled IP data

Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025

Improper trust in client IP data in JumpServer before 3.8.0 allows remote attackers to bypass login brute-force protections. The Core authentication-token endpoint accepts the request-controlled remote_addr field or X-Forwarded-For header as the client identity used by its IP-based attempt counter. No authentication is required, and changing that value between requests permits unlimited password guesses without triggering the IP-based limit.
