Service crash via undefined extension handling
Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Denial of service in Parse Platform Parse Server 1.0.0 through 5.5.5 and 6.0.0 through 6.3.0 allows remote attackers to crash the server. FilesRouter derives no extension from an extensionless upload, then calls split on the undefined value instead of skipping extension validation. Reachability requires an exposed file-upload route; a successful request terminates the server process and interrupts its API service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
