CVE-2023-4607Network attack vector

Authenticated privilege escalation via crafted API command

Published Oct 24, 2023 · Updated Dec 3, 2024

Improper privilege management in Lenovo XClarity Controller allows remote authenticated users to change any user's permissions via an API command. XCC accepts a crafted account-management API command that applies permission changes to an arbitrary target user without enforcing the caller's intended authorization boundary. A valid XCC account is required, and successful exploitation grants control over other users' privileges; Lenovo has not disclosed the endpoint or implementation details.
