HTTP service crash via unchecked port copy
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Stack buffer overflow in Tenda AC500 2.0.1.9 allows remote attackers to crash the HTTP service via a crafted VLAN port value. The fromSetVlanInfo handler reads the user-controlled port parameter without a length check and copies it into the fixed-size local stack buffer dest. The published request includes a password cookie and demonstrates a bin/httpd process crash, while CISA's assessment records no privileges as required.
