Stored XSS via unsanitized group description
Published Oct 23, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Geeklog 2.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script through the group administration interface. The admin/group.php component stores the grp_desc parameter without adequate output encoding, so a crafted group description executes when rendered to another user. Exploitation requires access to group administration and a victim viewing the stored description; reported effects are limited to script-driven confidentiality and integrity impact in the affected web session.
