External resource disclosure via enabled entity expansion
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
XXE in Fnando svg_optimizer 0.2.6 allows remote attackers to embed external resource contents through untrusted SVG input. The optimize and optimize_file methods pass SVG data to Nokogiri with recover.noent, enabling resolution and expansion of external XML entities by default. Exposure requires a consuming application to supply attacker-controlled SVG content; returned optimized XML can contain data read from resources accessible to that application's process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
